In-person Campus Visits in Kunshan

We are also excited to host students and their family members for in-person visits to Duke Kunshan University’s campus in China where you can explore DKU’s state-of-the-art campus and meet members of our global community!  A visit to DKU’s beautiful campus, a 20-minute highspeed train from Shanghai, is a great way to learn more about DKU’s academic and student experience, see campus landmarks, and learn about residential life, dining and more.  During your visit, you will have the opportunity to speak with a member of the admissions team, current student, as well as faculty or other DKU staff (pending availability). Upon arriving on campus, visitors will:

• Attend a campus tour guided by a member of the admissions team and/or current DKU student (approx. 60 minutes)

• Join members of the DKU community for a complimentary lunch at the Community Center’s dining hall (approx. 60 minutes)

Meet with a member of the admissions team and get your questions answered about DKU and the application process (approx. 30 minutes)

In-person campus visits are held Monday through Friday at 10:30am, except on days designated as Chinese and some American holidays.  Pre-registration is required for campus visits and must be arranged at least 3 days in advance of the visit.  Unfortunately, due to campus security, we are not able to accommodate visitors who have not registered.  If you cannot attend the campus visit during our regularly scheduled time, please email Carleen Ben at cb459@duke.edu with the subject “Campus Visit Request: date & desired time” and we will do our best to accommodate you.

To register for an in-person campus visit, please follow these steps:

  • Select the date you would like to visit using the calendar
  • Complete the campus visit registration form
  • Wait for an approval email that will include instructions on how to obtain the DKU Access Code to enter campus

*For applicants whose primary citizenship is Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan, please refer to China Admissions         (联系我们 | 本科 – 昆山杜克大学).

Campus Visits Guide

To help you plan for your visit to DKU we have put together a Campus Visit Guide that includes our address in English and Chinese, guidance on getting from Shanghai to Kunshan, a list of hotels in Kunshan, helpful Apps to download before arriving in China, as well as a few nearby attractions to help you explore Kunshan and nearby Suzhou.

In-person Group Visits

We also host group visits at DKU. Group visits are limited to high school students, counselors, teachers, and school administrators and typically include an information session conducted by an admissions representative, a student panel (subject to student availability), walking tour of campus, and optional lunch on campus (depending on timing of visit).  Groups interested in visiting are required to contact us at least three weeks in advance of their desired visit date.  To schedule a group visit, email cb459@duke.edu with the subject “Group Visit Request: school name & date”.  In your email, please include for planning purposes the approximate number of visitors and time you would like to arrive on campus. We will do our best to accommodate all group visit requests. More advanced notice may increase the likelihood of accommodation.
